This Silk Thread Crochet Purse is definitely inspired from the crochet saree tassels which has been my favorite since the last few years. One day, while working on a crochet saree tassel design, I got a thought of trying to crochet a purse using silk thread and that is how I ended up making this one. Please pardon me for the bright colors. To be honest, the reason I used these bright colors is because I wanted to try something wild and unusual.
This same purse can be made using any kind of yarn like wool or cotton or viscose. But choose the hook size depending on the yarn. Here I have used 6 strands of silk thread. I have changed colors often, but you can make it in single color, double color or change colors. If you don’t have plastic canvas you can use Bakram or any kind of Canvas to make the purse stiff. If you don’t know sewing or don’t have a sewing machine, you can hand stitch the same using back stitch.
I have used gold raw silk fabric as the base, with all 4 sides picot. If you don’t have a picot machine you can fold the ends of the fabric and hand stitch it. So I guess nothing should stop you from trying this !!!
